Mark D. Soycher Counsel, Human Resources Services, CBIA : Mark Soycher has over 30 years’ experience guiding Connecticut employers and employees through the maze of laws and regulations affecting their workplace, providing legal assistance with all workplace problems from hiring to firing, and on how best to plan and apply workplace strategies that anticipate and avoid legal disputes. As HR Counsel at CBIA, the state’s largest business organization, Soycher responds to thousands of personnel-related inquires annually from member companies, and has conducted training sessions for thousands of Connecticut workers on a wide range of topics, including Sexual Harassment Prevention, Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention, Employment Law for Managers, Workplace Discrimination, ADA and Ethics Compliance. Previously, Soycher was in private law practice for a dozen years, representing and counseling both employers and individuals in employment matters.
Shannon Lovley : has worked in Veterinary Medicine since 1991. She has been the Practice Manager of, the highly rated, CatsLimited Veterinary Hospital in West Hartford, CT since 2009 and received the designation of Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) in 2013. Shannon holds an Associates of Science with a concentration in Business Management (2001.) In early 2018 she joined Coppens Business Strategies. Shannon continues to express her passion of Veterinary Medicine using her cumulative and trusted expertise to assist other veterinary practices with personal detailed attention to educate, streamline and grow their practice. She regularly consults in the areas of: good accounting practices, hiring and retaining great candidates, the use of Cornerstone and AviMark with ease, proper protocols, instituting OSHA policies, day-to-day accounting with Quickbooks.
Ken Aldrich is the Director of Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine and a founding member of the VMCC, NHCVMA and CTVTA. He has held various positions during his 23 year veterinary management career in both private and corporate practices.
Val Lacasse Regional Operations Director, VCA : Val has been in the Veterinary Field Management field for 20 years, both private and corporately owned practices. During her career, she has managed multiple general practices and specialty hospitals. In her role as Regional Operations Director, she is currently managing 14 locations and working on multiple national programs.
