From the CVMA in response the DCP and Zoo-Pharm.
Monday, June 18th
It has come to our attention that agents from the Department of Consumer Protection's Drug Control Division are visiting veterinary offices in CT and confiscating and destroying supplies of buprenorphine from ZooPharm. The CVMA has been in touch with the Department to gain an understanding as to why this is happening and have requested that they provide us with information and direction. We expect to receive guidance from the Department and will be sharing it with members as soon as we do.
We believe this is a problem with this specific out of state pharmacy that does not have the proper licensing to be selling buprenorphine in non patient specific quantities.
Again, we anticipate guidance from DCP very soon. Once members have had a chance to review the guidance, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions and we will work to obtain answers from the Department.
Thank you.
